Luxury Italian watchmaker Bulgari has designed new timepieces for its design partner Maserati.
The two Octo Maserati wristwatches, so-called because they are new additions to a range of octagonal designs, were simultaneously unveiled on the Maserati stand at the Frankfurt motor show and at Bulgari’s showroom in Geneva.
Bulgari and Maserati have been working together on a commitment of excellence since 2012.
The two watches, the Gransport and GranLusso, are reserved for Maserati owners and aficionados and will only be available in Bulgari boutiques.
“In Italy, you have many luxury brands, but few are old brands,” says Jean-Christophe Babin, CEO ofBulgari.
“Maserati is the oldest Italian sports car company. It’s very special because when you think about Bulgari, it’s about beauty, tradition and craftsmanship, and Maserati has the same values.
‘We resonate very well for each other’s client base.”
Both watches feature jumping hour and retrograde minutes displays, and are designed with the style codes of Maserati cars built in.
The dial on both models is meant to evoke the rev counter of a Maserati automobile, and both feature the Maserati Trident just under the jumping hour window.
Both watches measure 41mm in diameter. The GranSport comes in a black carbon case, with a black dial and the hands and indications in silver and blue. It’s priced at US$12,800.
The GranLusso is the same watch in 18K pink gold with its hands and indications in pink gold. It’s priced at US$30,700.
