In 2015, Ducati introduced its Scrambler family, a range of more affordable modular bikes. Seven years on, the retro-inspired range now accounts for more than a quarter of the brand’s total annual sales.
The iconic company has expanded its Scrambler lineup for the 2023 model year. All three new bikes are powered by 73hp air-cooled L-twin engines and get a host of updates and upgrades to the platform.
In addition to being lighter than their predecessors, the new models now feature better performance, increased customisation potential, interchangeable body panels in nine different colour options, and a technology package that includes the first-ever ride-by-wide throttle.
The first of the new models is the updated take on the Ducati Scrambler Icon. The base example gets new side covers, an updated livery, a redesigned seat and handlebars, and an X-clad circular LED headlight, also shared by the other two new models.
Next is the Ducati Scrambler Nightshift. On top of a new saddle design, this model also gains a new flat-shaped, variable-section handlebar, and an exclusive dark blue livery with white pin-striping.
The third model is the Ducati Scrambler Full Throttle. Inspired by AMA Flat Track race bikes, the Full Throttle is touted as being the sportiest member of the Scrambler family.
The updated bike boasts a sump guard, allow wheels, performance LED indicators, a quick shifter, and a homologated Termignoni silencer with a carbon fiber end-cap— all as standard.
The Full Throttle also sports a MotoGP-inspired livery complete with #62 race numbers on its side boards, a nod to the year Ducati released its original Scrambler model in 1962.
Scheduled to hit global dealerships next year, the 2023 Ducati Scrambler Lineup starts at $US10,995 for the Ducati Scrambler Icon and $US12,195 for the Ducati Scrambler Full Throttle and Ducati Scrambler Nightshift variants.
