Ford has held the official media launch of the GT supercar at its testing ground in the US state of Utah. Only 1000 will be built, each costing around $NZ1 million. In this video, Matt Burt, editor of Britain’s Autocar magazine, talks about the car’s origins, from the GT 40 Kiwis Bruce McLaren and Chris Amon drove to win Le Mans in 1966, to the Ford GT of 2005. Burt takes the new model for a spin on road and track and explains what makes it tick.
