New Zealanders are snapping up Volvo’s new SUV, the high-tech XC90 that is at the centre of the carmaker’s goal to eliminate all deaths in its cars from 2020. It is priced between $97,900 and $136,900, packed with life-saving gear, and went on sale here at the end of July. Since then, says Volvo, 130 have been sold – 70 already in the hands of owners and the balance on the way. Here, British TV show Fifth Gear goes to Volvo headquarters in Sweden to watch it crash test the XC90 – inside and outside the facility.
